Michael Waite

Originally from the small New Zealand town of Stratford, Mike wanted to caddy for Michael even through the tough years - he's since been part of the team through three wins on the European Tour, two on the Australasian Tour and numerous top placings.

An experienced caddy, Mike started in October 1987 with Wayne Riley, recorded eight wins with Rodger Davis, one with Ian Baker Finch, five with Robert Allenby, and one with Craig Parry. The caddy's job goes far beyond carrying the golf bag on the course. It includes studying the course before the tournament, measuring the distances at each hole between markers on the fairway or rough to the front of the green. Also, studying and noting features of the hole such as the location of trees, which could affect ball flight in different wind conditions. Details of each green are recorded, showing all flat areas, undulations and so on. During the practice / Pro-Am rounds, the caddy helps work out a strategy for the first day of play.

On tournament days Mike is ready at the course 90 minutes before tee-off time, with all the golf clubs cleaned and shoes polished..
